The Healing Project cultivates R.A.R.E. (radical, authentic, rigorous, and environmentally safe) spaces for social justice and collective healing through the art of storytelling and other modes of visual and performance art — specifically centering the voices of Blackwomen and other Women of Color with trauma histories.
We (re)imagine a world where Blackwomen and other Women of Color are liberated as knowers and contributing to knowledge projects about them. We envision our work impacting communities in an intimate and wholistic way — while contributing to science by closing race-based gaps and addressing epistemic, psychosocial, and gender-based violence against Blackwomen and other Women of Color.
"If Black women were free, it would mean that everyone else would have to be free..." CRC, 1977
