PROGRAMS + SERVICES

Through storytelling, socially-engaged art, research, and embodied practice, The Healing Project cultivates spaces for collective healing, consciousness-raising, and social transformation. Our programs are rooted in Black feminist epistemologies, healing justice, and Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR)—centering racialized communities in the work of meaning-making, liberation, and well-being.

Story and healing circle facilitation

Through collective witnessing and storytelling, we raise community consciousness around local and systemic issues.

These circles:

✔ Amplify community ways of knowing
✔ Honor cultural healing practices
✔ Provide culturally affirming therapeutic relief

Our facilitation is interactive, arts-based, and designed to hold space for deep listening, reflection, and transformation.

hear heal hike TREKKING GROUP

A journey of healing, connection, and deepened relationship with one another and with nature.

HEAR HEAL HIKE Trekking Group is an arts-infused, meditative trekking and walking group dedicated to holistic community wellness, intergenerational connection, and embodied healing through nature-based practices. Whether through organized group hikes or spontaneous pop-up walks, we embrace movement as a pathway to healing—connecting with nature, community, and self.

We walk not just for movement, but for remembrance—honoring our stories and histories, reclaiming our right to rest and restoration, and deepening our relationship with the earth as a site of healing, resistance, and wisdom.

Through organized treks and spontaneous pop-up walks, we cultivate:

✔ Spiritual, mental, and physical well-being
✔ Mindful presence and radical rest
✔ A renewed relationship with nature as a source of cultural healing and resilience
✔ Communal reflection, storytelling, and intergenerational connection

In a world that demands our constant endurance, HEAR HEAL HIKE invites us to pause, breathe, listen, and move with intention—grounding ourselves in the land and in each other.

Research Collective

A critical participatory action research (CPAR) initiative, using arts-informed, community-centered inquiry to democratize knowledge production.

Our research is rooted in healing justice and focuses on:

✔ Psychosocial development and mental health equity
✔ Gender-based violence and racialized experiences
✔ Art as a tool for interdisciplinary research, teaching, and social action

We engage in community-led research and work toward producing knowledge that is of use for those most impacted.

🔎 Consultation Work: We provide specialized consultation services for organizations, academic institutions, and grassroots movements on healing justice, arts-based research methodologies, and critical community engagement.

Therapeutic and Interactive wORKSHOP Facilitation

Expressive, performance, and visual arts workshops designed to confront local and global social issues—including historical trauma, systemic oppression, and healing justice activism.

Our workshops focus on:

✔ Co-creating meaning and sense-making
✔ Developing community-affirmed solutions for healing and liberation
✔ Using art as a tool for organizing and action

💡 New Offering: Individual and Group Therapeutic Coaching (Paid Component)

We are developing therapeutic coaching services rooted in healing justice, creativity, and somatic practice—designed for individuals and communities navigating the weight of systemic harm.

Tour de Healing

A traveling storytelling project reclaiming erased narratives and centering community memory.

Tour de Healing is not a traditional tour—it is a mobile, community-rooted storytelling project that brings stories to the people, rather than asking people to come to the stories. Through pop-up storytelling events in public spaces, we recover, amplify, and re/member narratives that have been silenced, distorted, or erased.

By traveling to communities, we engage in:

✔ Public memory work that honors racialized histories and lived experiences
✔ Oral testimonio and storytelling as tools for healing and social transformation
✔ Deep listening and witnessing to empower communities to “bend toward action”

We believe that history is held in places, people, and voices—and that healing begins when we create space for those voices to be heard. Tour de Healing is an act of resistance, a practice of care, and a commitment to ensuring that the stories of the marginalized are not just preserved but centered in the fight for justice and liberation.
