Dora's multimodal dissertation project, Radical, Authentic, Rigorous, and Environmentally Brave (R.A.R.E.) Spaces, is a Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR) project that examines Blackwomen's perceptions of resilience juxtaposed to dominant narratives and explores culturally affirming factors/practices that contribute to resistance, liberation, joy, and healing.
Little is known about Black women's perceptions of resilience and its impact on their overall well-being. This study will utilize a critical narrative approach to foster brave spaces for explorin counter narratives of resilience among Blackwomen. Email Dora at dnw6@illinois.edu to sign up.
